About Skills Training

Skills training can mean many things--training in a specific field in order to make a sustainable livelihood such as tailor, farmer, fashion designer (read Stella's Story), hair dresser, carpenter, etc., or learning life skills which can be put into practice daily in order to provide a foundation from which to be self-sufficient and able to provide for the needs of a family such as the families who learn to micro-garden in order to have food on their tables.

Point Hope ensures a variety of skills training opportunities are available each month, allowing all persons who desire to train the ability to acquire a sustainable skill set. We also furnish transportation and manage logistics to assure the success of those enrolled in training, in addition to making certain they have the appropriate tools and marketing skills to start sustainable businesses.
