Diana Griffith, RN

Diana Griffith, R.N., born and raised in Washington State, has worked in the healthcare field for over 30 years, and has worked as a Primary Care Clinic RN and as a Senior Research Interventionist for Group Health Research Institute on a study with patients diagnosed with depression, diabetes and/or cardiovascular disease which was published in the New England Journal of Medicine in December of 2010. In addition, she was a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) for 15 years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Registered Nursing at Seattle Pacific University. Prior to that she had received Associate of Science degree in Registered Nursing at Highline College and an Associate’s Degree in Science from Olympic College. She currently works for Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.

Diana resides in Port Orchard, WA, with her husband Stan and their daughter, Svea, and enjoys riding horses and being with her family. Diana says, “In November of 2013, Svea and I traveled to India where I facilitated a medical mission to villages outside the orphanage where we stayed.  This sparked a light in my heart and I wanted to give more and then God brought me to Point Hope.”

In late-summer of 2016, Diana traveled to Ghana to volunteer with Point Hope Ghana and saw the healthcare system in action within Ghana.  She came away from that experience wanting to gather medical supplies and equipment for the clinics and hospitals with whom Point Hope works because she saw the real need and felt the appreciation of the medical staff wherever she went. She plans to return to Ghana in 2018 and to facilitate some medical outreaches in the rural villages there.
